Information for Our Patients
Chronic pelvic pain is a complex condition. Its treatment usually requires cooperation between several medical specialties, a long-term therapeutic plan and the use of multiple treatment modalities.
Our clinic primarily specialises in the expert performance of interventional pain-management procedures. If you are under the care of a physician experienced in chronic pain management who is coordinating your treatment, and your treatment plan requires a targeted nerve block, radiofrequency treatment or cryoablation, we can perform these procedures under image guidance.
Available procedures include:
- diagnostic blockade and chemical neurolysis of the superior and inferior hypogastric plexuses under fluoroscopic guidance;
- pudendal nerve and terminal branch blocks under ultrasound guidance;
- pudendal nerve cryoablation and pulsed radiofrequency treatment under ultrasound guidance;
- ganglion impar block and radiofrequency treatment under fluoroscopic guidance;
- selective S2–S4 nerve root blocks under fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance;
- radiofrequency treatment or cryoablation of the S2–S4 nerve roots under fluoroscopic guidance;
- botulinum toxin (Botox) injections under ultrasound guidance;
- targeted trigger-point and botulinum toxin injections into the obturator muscle under ultrasound guidance;
- regenerative treatment of the sacrococcygeal joint;
- ketamine infusion therapy for the neuropathic component of pain.
It is important to understand that a single injection or procedure should not generally be expected to provide a lasting solution to chronic pain. Nerve blocks may also serve a diagnostic purpose, their effects may be temporary, and further treatments may be required depending on the response.
Individual injections and procedures may cost several hundred thousand Hungarian forints. The overall treatment process may therefore involve a substantial financial commitment. Before scheduling an appointment, please review the current fees and bear in mind that more than one procedure may be required.
