Introduction
Dr. Pál Pottyondy is a specialist in anaesthesiology and intensive care, with a clinical focus on orthopaedic and trauma anesthesia, intensive care therapy, and chronic pain management. He obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Semmelweis University in 2015 and completed his board certification in anesthesiology and intensive therapy in 2020.
Throughout his clinical career, he has gained extensive experience in general and regional anaesthesia, as well as in the management of critically ill trauma patients. In recent years, his professional focus has shifted toward the comprehensive, multimodal treatment of chronic pain, with special emphasis on interventional and ultrasound-guided procedures.
Since 2015, he has been working at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy at the Dr. Jenő Manninger Trauma Centre in Budapest, where he founded and launched the hospital’s Pain Clinic in 2024.
He regularly participates in national and international professional training programs. He completed the Pain School International Comprehensive Pain Education Program in Budapest (2024–2025) and has attended several international cadaver workshops and musculoskeletal ultrasound courses in Innsbruck, Luqa, Warsaw, and Amsterdam. During a clinical observership in Leuven, Belgium, he gained experience in a comprehensive pain centre.
His professional interests include chronic musculoskeletal pain, regional anesthesia, and image-guided interventional pain procedures. He is committed to a multidisciplinary, patient-focused approach and emphasizes providing care based not only on practical experience but also on international literature and evidence-based medicine.
