Experts are still studying the exact mechanism of action and clinical effectiveness of stem cell therapy. Based on current knowledge, stem cells influence (modulate) the body\u2019s healing response and inflammation, promoting the healthy formation of new tissues.<\/p>\n

What Are Stem Cells?<\/b><\/h3>\n

Bone marrow is located within the inner, spongy part of the bone. This spongy tissue produces blood cells and contains the so-called stem cells, which are undeveloped or \u201cprimitive\u201d cells. These cells can transform into various other types of cells and tissues, such as bone, cartilage, fat, or even blood vessels. However, their main function during treatment is to orchestrate and regulate inflammatory processes like a \u201cconductor in an orchestra\u201d<\/b>, rather than to transform into cartilage or tendon tissue.<\/p>\n

What Determines Whether BMC or ADSC Stem Cells Are Used?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The choice between stem cells derived from bone marrow (BMC) or adipose derived stem cells<\/a> (ADSC) depends on several factors, including the patient\u2019s overall condition, the type of condition being treated, and the availability of biological tissue for harvesting.<\/p>\n

BMC (Bone Marrow Concentrate) therapy is a commonly used and well-established method for musculoskeletal conditions. However, based on clinical experience and research, BMC treatments often need to be repeated 2\u20133 times to achieve long-lasting results.<\/p>\n

In contrast, ADSC (Adipose-Derived Stem Cell)<\/a> therapy offers the advantage of obtaining a larger quantity of stem cells in a single procedure. Current evidence suggests that even a single treatment may lead to significant improvement. A potential drawback is that it requires specialized equipment and more extensive preparation due to the liposuction process.<\/p>\n

In all cases, the treating physician makes a personalized decision based on the patient\u2019s condition and individual characteristics to determine which type of stem cell therapy is most appropriate.<\/p>\n

How Are Stem Cells Collected?<\/b><\/h3>\n

      Common, Mild Side Effects:<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

      • Increased tenderness and swelling of muscles or joints (patients with stronger reactions often require fewer treatments). These symptoms typically last 2\u20133 days<\/b>, occasionally up to 10 days<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Fever. Some patients may develop a low-grade fever on the first day after treatment.

            \nSince stem cells themselves have antibacterial properties, infection caused by sterilely prepared stem cells is extremely rare<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                • Anti-inflammatory medications should be stopped 2 weeks before the procedure<\/b>. This includes Aspirin, Naproxen, Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, and other anti-inflammatory supplements such as herbal teas.<\/li>\n
                • Because smoking constricts blood vessels and reduces therapy effectiveness, we strongly recommend quitting smoking<\/b>.<\/li>\n
                • The patient should arrive with an escort<\/b>.<\/li>\n
                • Since the procedure is usually done under mild sedation or general anesthesia, do not eat for 6 hours before<\/b> the procedure.<\/li>\n
                • Clear fluids (water) may be consumed up to 2 hours before<\/b>, but not after.<\/li>\n
